Ottawa South Denture Clinic Re-Opening: COVID-19 Prevention Measures in Place
Good news!
With Stage 2 of reopening now underway here in Ontario, our Ottawa denture clinic is now open once again.
During the COVID-19 shutdown, the Ottawa South Denture Clinic was limited to emergency services only.
We thank all of our patients and their families, as well as our amazing denture clinic staff, for their patience and endurance during this challenging time.
Reopening the Ottawa South Denture Clinic
As our Ottawa denture clinic begins to resume appointments and denture services, we want to assure you that your health and safety – as well as the health and safety of our denture clinic team – are our first priority.
With that in mind, we’d like to let you know about some of the steps we are taking, and additional measures we are putting into place, to ensure your continued health & safety as the coronavirus pandemic has eased but is not over yet.
The COVID-10 re-opening standards for denture clinics and dental practices have been set forth by the Province of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association, Ottawa Public Health and other government authorities & dental industry bodies.
Ontario has some of the most stringent standards for re-opening denture clinics and other dental practices, compared to the rest of Canada. At Ottawa South Denture Clinic, we are of course adhering to these reopening & operational standards – and, in many cases, exceeding these standards to bring you the highest level of care with health & safety always at the forefront.
Rather than wait in the denture clinic lobby, we are asking patients (and their family, driver or caregiver) to please wait in your car or elsewhere outside the denture clinic (while maintaining physical distance).
Ottawa South Denture Clinic Appointments & Facilities
You’ll notice longer turnaround time in between appointments at our Ottawa denture clinic, for example, so that we can ensure that the clinic facilities remain sanitized for the next patient.
While this may result in fewer appointments on a per day or per week basis, it’s to maintain a safe environment at the denture clinic for patients and staff alike. We thank you for your patience as we stagger the schedule, and we apologize if this necessitates delaying your denture clinic appointment.
We know that many of you were forced to miss and reschedule your denture clinic appointment during the coronavirus shutdown. We appreciate your understanding as our denture clinic staff are now working diligently to clear the backlog of appointments and get all patients scheduled again in a timely manner.
In addition to appointment scheduling, our denture clinic team has been putting in extraordinary effort in ensuring that the facilities and clinic environment remain safe for staff and patients alike, taking measures in accordance with (or beyond) the guidelines as set out by the province and other governing / advising bodies.
You may notice a more institutional odor and/or the absence of some of the usual “nice, little touches” from before. The same goal is to keep our Ottawa South Denture Clinic facilities clean and sanitary. We are, however, offering hand sanitizer for guests and staff as well; please use this when entering the denture clinic.
Staff at Ottawa South Denture Clinic are wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) as appropriate to their role. Additionally, we are following guidelines for changing into and out of clothing worn in the office. While we are always conscientious, as denture clinic practitioners, of thorough and effective hand-washing, we are doubling down these efforts as well.
We, of course, are limiting the total number in our denture clinic at any given time, following social distancing measures with which you’re familiar from other places in Ottawa.
All staff are being extra vigilant when it comes to monitoring our own health as well as the health of our patients.
We are constantly checking for fever and other possible symptoms of COVID-19. Staff showing any symptom are asked not to come into the denture clinic. We ask the same of our patients; if you have a fever or other COVID-19 symptoms, please call us to reschedule your appointment.
