Benefits of Digital Dentures
Digital dentures can provide patients with many benefits. We are highlighting some of them below:
Precise Fit
Digital denture techniques allow us to create an appliance with the most precise fit, eliminating the need for conventional stone models where materials can expand or contract.
Fast Turn Around
Digital dentures takes only 2 weeks to complete vs traditional dentures that need at least 4-6 weeks. They also require fewer visits to our clinic as well as fewer adjustments.
Predictable Aesthetics
Never change the look of your dentures! Once you are happy with the look of your dentures, the aesthetics are preserved in the electronic file. When the time comes to replace them, there will be no changes to the looks of your dentures.
Competitive Price
The cost of Digital dentures is comparable to the cost of traditional dentures. It means you get a better set of dentures at a competitive price.
Try-in Set
Digitally made try-in dentures can be taken home for the client to “test drive” their new smile before the final prosthesis is made.
Quick Replacements
If your dentures are lost or damaged, we can replace them within a day/overnight using the digital file we store in our system. When it’s time to replace your dentures, it will be done in 1-2 appointments while preserving original esthetics and precise fit.

What Are Digital Dentures?
Until now, the fabrication of denture appliances has remained almost the same for the last 150 years. Digital dentures use a revolutionary new technology that recently came into the market, challenging the traditional (analogue) way of fabricating oral appliances. The term “digital” refers to the technique and process involved in the fabrication of modern denture appliances.
The process is faster, the fit is better, the dentures are more precise. Duplicates take only hours to make and a take-home try-in option that can serve as a backup denture is available. To implement this new technology, we have upgraded our on-site lab with new high-tech equipment, such as computers with new design software and 3D printers. OSDC is also using a new CAD/CAM milling machinery for the fastest and most accurate production of your final dentures. Visit our denture clinic today to experience digital dentures in Ottawa!

How are Digital Dentures Made?
When traditional dentures are made, the denturist takes a mold of the gums and teeth of the patient, then stone models are made and wax rims are fabricated. Once the bite is recorded, new models are created and the dentures are shaped into the final product. Digital dentures are made using revolutionary technology, high-quality materials and advanced dental software. Modern scanning and imaging techniques can accurately measure the dimensions of your mouth.
The impressions of your teeth and gums are digitalized using a 3D scanner at our denture clinic. We are now able to craft try-in appliances that will be modified to perfectly fit the patient’s mouth. The new changes are later scanned and merged into the original file to assist in the fabrication of the new set of dentures. Once the final design is approved, the dentures are either 3D printed or milled.
