October Is Denturist Awareness Month

October is Denturist Awareness month.

At our clinic in Ottawa, we know that replacing your original teeth with dentures is about more than simply trusting someone with your smile.

We specialize in the design, fabrication, installation and ongoing care of different types of dentures.

Denturist vs Dentist: What is the Difference?

Unlike dentists, who can treat a great array of dental issues, denturists are specialized dental care providers.

Whatever your denture-related needs are, your friendly Ottawa denturist, Yevgeniy, has you covered.

Ottawa South Denture Clinic offers a variety of dentures, from complete dentures and partial dentures to implant dentures and much more.

Meet Our Denturist Yevgeniy Sorokatyy

Your Ottawa denturist, Yevgeniy Sorokatyy, graduated from George Brown Denturism College Program with Honours in 2009, and is a recipient of Academic Merit Award

Every year, Yevgeniy completes new education courses on dentures and denture-related processes and content. He is also the very first denturist in Ottawa to become a SEMCD (Lower Suction Denture Technique)-certified denture clinician.

Yevgeniy Sorokatyy is an active member of both the College of Denturists of Ontario and the Ontario Denturist Association.

When not serving patients at our Ottawa denture clinic, Yevgeniy is a sports enthusiast who enjoys kiteboarding and snowboarding.

This is what you can expect from your denturist’s oral assessment:

  • Gum and remaining teeth examination
  • Bite and dentures check
  • Denture inspection
  • Denture cleaning

Depending on the outcome, your Ottawa denturist will recommend the course of dentures that suits you best.

Needless to say, we will happily answer any and all of your questions about dentures and the denture process. We believe that everybody should be aware of their oral condition and fully understand the suggested denture option(s) presented.

At Ottawa South Denture Clinic we allow plenty of time with every client to ensure they receive the best possible service.

How Long Do Dentures Last?

ottawa denturist clinicThe average lifespan of a denture is generally between 5 and 10 years.

Like real teeth, dentures will wear and stain over. On top of that, your mouth and gums will change over time.

That being said, your dentures might need adjustments, relines (re-fitting), or even replacement. To prevent unexpected surprises, you should visit your denturist at the Ottawa South Denture Clinic at least once a year. Regular check-ups will help maximize the life of your appliances.
